The athlete's foot (tinea pedis) is a fungal infection that usually begins between the toes. It usually occurs in people whose feet become very sweaty while confined within tight shoes. Signs and symptoms of an athlete's foot include a scaly rash that usually causes itching, stinging, and burning. An athlete's foot is contagious and can be spread through contaminated floors, towels, or clothing. Athlete's foot is closely related to ringworm and other fungal infections such as ringworm. It can be treated with over-the-counter antifungal medications, but the infection often recurs.  Prescription drugs are also available. Athlete's foot usually causes a scaly red rash. The rash usually starts between the toes. Itching is often worst after you take off your shoes and socks. Some types of athlete's feet cause blisters or ulcers.  The moccasin variety of athlete's foot causes chronic dryness and scaling on the soles that extends to the side of the foot.  It can be mistaken for eczema or dry skin.


The infection can affect one or both feet and can spread to your hand – especially if you scratch or pick at infected parts of your feet. If you have a foot rash that does not improve within two weeks of starting self-treatment with an over-the-counter antifungal product, see your doctor. If you have diabetes, see your doctor if you suspect you have an athlete's foot, especially if you notice any signs of a possible secondary bacterial infection such as excessive redness, swelling, drainage, or fever.


1) Put 20-30 grams of chopped ginger in a cup of boiling water and boil it for 20 minutes.

2) After cooling, apply it twice a day to clean feet.


Neem tree:-

1) Coconut oil or organic neem oil has anti-fungal properties and can be applied directly on the feet.

2) Use a cotton ball to apply.

Athlete's foot problem tips:-

1) Keep the length of your toenails as short as is comfortable for you.

2) Dry between your toes after swimming or bathing.

3) Use talcum or antifungal powder on your feet.

4) Allow your shoes to air out for at least 12-24 hours before wearing them again.
