Swastikasana means one who does well.  This asana is beneficial for the health of every person. With this posture, the mind converges and thoughts of the mind move towards spirituality. Yogacharya has said about Swastikasan that by keeping the soles of both feet properly in the middle part of Janu and thigh, sitting upright on the neck, chest and spinal cord makes Swastikasana.

Method for doing Swastikasan:-

To practice this asana, first sit down by laying the strings.  After that, bend the right leg from the knees and keep it in the normal position by pressing it between the knees of the left leg and keep the left leg on the calf of the right leg by bending it from the knee.  Then, with both hands on both knees, make a pose of knowledge. For Jnana Mudra, keep three fingers open and mix the thumb and junior finger together. Now concentrate your mind on the front part of the nose and concentrate the mind. Stay as long as possible in this posture.

The practice of this asana leads to more religious development.  This is a very good posture to concentrate attention. Those who have difficulty doing pranayama while sitting in Padmasana should do this asana.  By practicing this asana, the mind calms down and awakens the mind to meditate on God. The practice of this asana relieves foot pain. The practice of this asana eliminates perspiration in the feet and smells of sweat.  Those whose feet become cold in winter and sweating more in summer, benefit by practicing this asana for 20 minutes daily.

Precaution of swastikas:-

Swastikasana should not be used by people suffering from sciatica and sacral infection.  The anxiety of a doctor. People suffering from sciatica or knee pain or injury should give up this asana. People with arthritis of the knees, hips, and feet should avoid sitting on the floor.
