Method of performing Ardh Matsyendrasana.

Sit in Dandasana. Press the ground with light hands, and while breathing in, lengthen the spine. Bend the left leg and bring the left leg over the right knee and keep the left foot on the ground. Fold the right leg and land the foot near the left buttock. Relax on. Bring the right hand over the top of the left foot and hold the left toe. Bend the torso as much as possible, and bend the neck so that the left shoulder can focus. Hold the ground, and inhale normally. This is the currency of Ardh Matsyendrasana. Look at the picture below. Stay in the pose for 30-60 seconds. To get out of the easy do all the steps in reverse order. All these steps then repeat on the other side as well.

Should not be done during pregnancy and menstruation. People with heart, stomach, or brain operation should not practice this asana. People with peptic ulcers or hernias should do this easy very carefully. If you have a spinal cord  If you have serious injuries or problems, do not do this asana. Light, as well as slip-discs, may benefit from this asana, but in severe cases, it should not be done.
